Marc Johnson

Production Manager

Marc Johnson is a songwriter and arranger with a unique performance history both in the United States and abroad. His early beginnings were playing the drums for his local church staring at age five, moving on to play trumpet, French horn, and clarinet in the middle school band and sing in high school choir. Shortly after hearing TAKE 6, he was addict to vocal expression, inspired to form or participate in numerous ensembles with great success.

Marc holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and Arranging from Colorado Christian University, studying under such notables as David N Wallis, Christelle Menth, Michael Shasberger, Elmer Schock and Allen P Schantz. Shortly after college, he joined the classic rock band COOL SHOOZ, which lead to joining the 17TH AVENUE ALLSTARS, both as a full-time member and filling in for the likes of Jimi Alexander, Tony Huerta, Barry Brown, and founder Norm Silver.

After the ALLSTARS, Marc then co-founded the funk/jazz/R&B collective CONFIDENTIAL (stylized as CNFDNTL), going on to win the Rocky Mountain Harmony Sweepstakes. Since then, he has spent time as a vocalist with the pop variety band GROOVE IN MOTION, in addition to freelance work as a chorister and tenor soloist for various choral ensembles throughout the US and in both Japan and Taiwan.

He now returns to the 17TH AVENUE ALLSTARS as Production Manager, bringing both discipline and an experienced perspective to the group to ensure that their storied legacy continues.
